Intangible Cultural Heritage

Intangible Cultural Heritage

At Sheme, we work to apply Shu embroidery to the design for women's shoes in order to incorporate traditional Chinese features into some internationally popular designs. Apart from meeting daily needs, Sheme's works combines vogue fashion elements with traditional handcrafting skills classified as intangible cultural heritage, which Sheme keeps looking for. This effort leads to a display of remarkable ethnic cultures. What's more, we always study during our practices, for example, mixing the property of Shu embroidery with other materials such as Swarovski crystals, sequins and stringed beads. The result — outstanding works carrying Sheme characteristics while capturing the core of ethnic culture — explains what “walking art” is all about.
