The Flowing Art Unfolding, sheme Shoes along the Silk Road
In 2015, under the initiative of the brand founder Linda (Liu Qiongying), we embarked on a journey themed “the Flowing Art Unfolding, Sheme Shoes along the Silk Road”. It takes us nearly one year as we travelled from the starting point of the Silk Road Chengdu, all the way through Qionglai, Ya'an, Xichang, Dali and other ancient cities, to India eventually. We captured the folk customs and natural beauty along the way and engraved them upon our creative works with the unspoken language of fashion design.
Silk Road—Blooming Flowers: after studying stories about flowers in different ancient cities along the silk road, we used over 240 colored threads and more than 2500 Swarovski crystals to create this masterpiece, a pair of over-the-knee boots embellished by a flower-paved “silk road”.
Silk Road—Ethnic Beauty: using Shu embroidery—a millennium-old quiescence of Chinese culture, we devoted our “craftsmanship” to unfold the spirts and cultures of the 56 ethnic groups in China. 375 colored threads and 56 stitch methods of Shu embroidery, among which dozens are on the verge of extinction, can be found in the work.
Silk Road—Silk Road Moment: glaring Swarovski rock crystals on the shoes symbol the silk road that Sheme has covered. Scattered bells and horseshoes made by special leather vividly reconstructed the scene of horse caravans along the ancient tea-horse route.
